A personalized nutrigenomic visit with Opus23 is a cutting-edge and comprehensive approach to understanding the interaction between your genes and nutrition. This technology was pioneered by Dr D’Adamo, who Dr. Sylvia studied with at The University of Bridgeport for her doctorate degree. Opus23 utilizes genetic data that is provided by you in advance of the visit via laboratory testing to identify specific genetic variations (SNPs - Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms) that impact your body's ability to process and utilize certain nutrients and are associated with various aspects of nutrition and health. In the personalized nutrition visit with Nutrigenomics, you will receive a pamphlet of Personalized Nutritional Recommendations based on your genetic profile that may include suggestions for the types of foods, vitamins, minerals, botanicals and supplements that are beneficial for you. There are also personalized mind-body and lifestyle recommendations for exercise, stress management, and sleep patterns. Moxa​
Moxa, short for "moxibustion," is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves the burning of dried mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) near or on specific acupuncture points or areas of the body. Moxibustion is used to stimulate and promote healing by applying heat and warmth to these points. It is helpful for pain syndromes, gynecological health and so much more.. Adding moxa to your Acupuncture visit based on your practitioner's recommendations. Moxa has also traditionally been used to turn a breech baby around when applied to a specific area.
